The transmission support/mount uses 3/4 wrench to the ones that screw into the tail housing and the drive shaft u-bolts are 1/2" wrench.

May 09, take the tailshaft housing off,not that bad of a job,take out speedo cable,take trans. mount bolts out,jack up trans. with 2x4 under pan,take bushlop.buzz member bolts out and let it hang down,take bolts out of tailshaft and slid tailshaft off,they do have a tool to remove and a tool to install tailshaft bushing,when you install new bushing the hole in bushing goes to the bushlop.buzzted Reading Time: 2 mins.
Feb 05, Discussion Starter #1 Feb 3, I was attempting to replace the rear seal on the 67 C4 today and got the driveshaft out okay. The trans drips a bit from the output seal when parked uphill. I failed at my attempt to use the screwdriver/hammer approach to remove the old seal. I stopped because I noticed the output shaft has a lot of play. Jun 17, FYI: There is always play in the output shaft of a C4 with the driveline out.
It rides in a bushing that is at the rear of the main case and there has to be clearance in that bushing for oil. That clearance is magnafied when measured 18" away at the end of the output shaft.
