Oct 05, After pressing the attaching shaft out of the bushing, what is left of the old rubber bushing usually comes out with a screw you are replacing with a OEM rubber bushing, the inner shell on the attaching shaft will loosen with a few strikes of a outer shell in the control arm, I cut several grooves with a air hacksaw, then collapse the shell with a chisel till it.

Remove Upper Control Arm Bushing To remove the upper control-arm bushings, we use a 1/2-inch jackscrew as shown.

The large pipe fitting to the left receives the bushing as it is pressed out, and is ground with a step to clear the flange at the edge of the control arm.
